New interface

Perhaps one of the most interesting changes that we can highlight in the new Windows is its new interface. For a long time, Microsoft had not cared for its system, however, with the arrival of the new Windows, things have changed. Windows 11 has a very attractive interface thanks to the fact that Microsoft has worked in detail on each of the system components, now we have rounded corners of the windows, a compact taskbar and touch design, new widgets, animations, etc.

Enhanced Apps

The apps that Microsoft included in Windows 11 are better than the ones in Windows 10. For example, the new Media Player app makes watching videos and listening to music and podcasts a better experience. Windows 11 users will also get  Clipchamp, a simple, template-based PWA  video editor suitable for small businesses making videos for marketing and advertising. Also, the Windows 11 Clock app deserves a special mention due to its handy new  Focus Sessions feature that helps you focus on projects.

We also have the  Photos app which includes surprisingly capable video editing, with some features not even found in Clipchamp. The Notepad, Paint, and Calculator apps have also been updated.

Best tool for screenshot

Taking screenshots in Windows 11 continues to get better, with lots of great options. The company has updated the old Snipping Tool, which currently competes with the superior and similarly named Snip & Sketch app.

The crop tool allows you to select rectangular areas, program windows, or the entire desktop. It also opens a mini-editor for cropping and markup.

The screenshot tool also has a delay timer and built-in save and share options. You can still use the tried and true PrtSc key to save a screen image file to the clipboard or OneDrive.

We have a more organized desk

In Windows, you’ve always been able to arrange the windows on your desktop the way you want. Just when you thought you couldn’t improve on the excellent capabilities of Windows 10, which lets you snap a window to the side to fill exactly half the screen or to a corner to fill exactly one-quarter of the screen, Microsoft comes along with another design trick. of windows called  Snap Layouts.

When you hover over the maximize icon at the top right of any window, you get multiple layout options in a thumbnail view. You can even save a layout for a group of apps that you want to reuse later in a single taskbar icon.

Widgets for quick access to news, weather and more

Windows 10 has a nifty News & Interests panel that appears when you hover over the taskbar icon, but Windows 11 widgets are more customizable; Coming soon, Windows 11 will support third-party information widgets. Many of the built-in widgets are extremely useful: news, weather, sports, traffic, family safety, stock prices, Outlook calendar, to-dos, and OneDrive photos. Your newsfeed can be customized by topics and sources.

The company has also previewed a new feature for the Widget panel that allows you to view it in full-screen mode. By hitting the Windows key + W in Windows 11, you can bring up the widgets board

It is twice as resistant to malware

Windows 11 is an ultra-secure system. Much of that is due to its requirement for a secure processor called a Trusted Platform Module, or TPM. Despite the increased security, this new requirement upset many Windows users as it meant that some older PCs would not be able to run the new operating system. In its launch, Microsoft stressed that core-secure PCs are twice as resistant to malware infection.

Windows 11 has a lot of skills to control multiple monitors

The new Windows 11 settings for multiple monitors at once make using a large external monitor a more efficient experience. The operating system now remembers the locations of windows on the connected monitor and minimizes them when disconnected, instead of filling the smaller screen with app windows.

New for multiple desktops is the ability to use different wallpapers on each and a redesigned desktop switching interface.

Run Android apps on Windows 11

Being able to run Android apps directly on our Windows 11 PC was a hot topic with the release of Windows 11. However, the capability has some limitations, as you can only install apps through the Amazon AppStore or by downloading them, not through the largest source of Android apps which is Google Play.

Windows 11 boasts substantial improvements to gaming and HDR performance

The new OS boasts two improvements when it comes to using high dynamic range ( HDR ) color on your compatible display. You can turn it on or off via Windows Game Bar, and a new Auto HDR feature will save you even that trouble. Another enhancement to gaming comes via the new DirectStorage feature, which allows games to be loaded directly into video memory, bypassing the CPU for much faster game load times.

These are some good reasons you should upgrade to windows 11. But if you’re still hesitant, there’s really no reason why you should upgrade to Windows 11 right away. As long as you’re on Windows 10, you’ll have access to many of Windows 11’s key features (like Auto HDR and virtual desktops) as well as critical updates and security patches through 2025.
