Reset Network Settings on windows 10 and windows 11

After Upgrade To Windows 10 May 2021 update, If You Are Struggling With Network Internet connection issue, WiFi Frequently Disconnects, Unable To connect to Internet Connection or local Network. Here we have Discussed How To Completely Reset Network Settings To Default. With Windows 10 version 1607 or later Microsoft Added Network reset option To completely Reset Network Settings, Configuration To default setup. Windows 10 network reset removes network adapter and settings associated with it. The PC reboots during this process, After reboot, the network adapters are installed and settings are set to default.

In Other words, network reset can be considered As “hard reset” solution for solving most of the network issue. When a network reset is performed it will clean your computer of all network drivers. Once all drivers are cleaned and the PC has been restarted, all of your network settings will be set at their defaults. Windows will then try to download and install drivers for your network hardware again.

Also, Try to open Network Adapter Troubleshooting Tool from the Control panel -> small icon View -> Troubleshooting -> View All,  click on the Network adapter and follow on-screen Instructions, this will scan and fix different network and internet connection issues. Check Corrupt system files using system file checker tool to  Make Sure Corrupt system files not causing The issue.

Perform Network Reset

If after check the basic things still having Network, Internet connection Issue, Let perform Network Reset to Restore Network Settings its default setup. Which Clean the settings, download and reinstall the driver for your Network Adapter etc.

Note: Network Reset Option only Available on Windows 10 Anniversary update or later versions. If you are using Windows 8.1 or Windows 7 skip this step and jump Reset Network settings on Windows 7 and 8.1.

To perform Network Reset Click on Windows 10 click on the Start button, then the cog icon on the left to open Settings. Here click “Network & Internet”.

Then, click “Status” on the left. Scroll Down, You’ll find an option on the right called “Network reset.” Click on it.

When you click Network reset Link, On the Next screen Make sure to read all the parts in this screen so you know what’s about to happen. Notably, Your pc will be Restarted itself, so make sure you have everything saved and ready to shut down. Click the “Reset now” button when you’re ready.

The Network Reset Confirmation popup will appear, Click Yes to confirm the same and Reset the Network Settings to the default setup.

This Will Take Flew minute to Perform the Reset process, then After A prompt message will open you’re about to be signed out.

After the restart, your PC will have its network drivers and settings reset. Allow Windows to reinstall drivers or install them manually if you like. Once you’re set back up, try to connect again and see if the reset helped fix your issues.

Note :

After the network reset, Your Wifi Connection will be get disconnected, So you need the Wifi Password to Connect again. Also, your network connection could be set to public network mode. Therefore the PC is not discovered by other devices in the network. So to make it discoverable edit the adapter properties and turn on the switch under Make this PC discoverable. If you are using VPN client software or virtual switches, even they have to be reconfigured again.

Network Reset for Windows 7 and 8.1

If you are using Windows 7 or 8.1 computer then There is no option to Reset the Network configuration.  You Can Reset Network Settings To Default by using some commands. Let’s see how to do.

First Open Command Prompt As an administrator,  by type cmd on the start menu, search, right-click on the Command prompt and select Run As Administrator. Now type the following commands one by one and hit enter key to execute the command.

ipconfig /flushdns

netsh winsock reset

netsh winsock reset proxy

That’s all After performing The commands simply Restart windows, to take effect the changes you have made. Now Check All Internet or network Related problems are get solved.
