New Features on Windows 11 23H2 Update (2023 Edition)

Microsoft has announced the general availability of the Windows 11 2023 update (also known as Windows 11 version 23H2). Installing Windows 11 version 23H2 bumps to Build 22631.2115 and brings 150+ new features and changes. Some of the Windows 11 23H2 Feature highlights include Microsoft Copilot, Modern File Explorer with Gallery view, AI tools in Paint and Photos app, optical character recognition (OCR) in Snipping Tool, Windows passkey manager, Windows Backup application, and more. To try these New features on Windows 11 23H2 Update, ensure toggle on “Get the latest updates as soon as they’re available” in settings.

How to install Windows 11 23H2 Update?

To get Windows 11 23H2 Features on your device you need to check and install Windows 11 version 23H2 on your Device. In addition, enable the toggle to Get the latest updates as soon as they’re available on settings.

“Because Windows 11, version 23H2 shares the same code base and servicing branch as Windows 11, version 22H2, this feature update will be delivered via Windows Update (as with the monthly update process) to enable a quick installation,” Microsoft explains.

  • Press Windows key + I to open the settings app on your PC
  • Go to Windows update then Toggle on next to “Get the latest updates as soon as they’re ready for your PC.

In the Windows 11 version 23H2 update, Microsoft is making a change to the taskbar. Instead of having the “Chat” application, they will now pin “Microsoft Teams (free)” to the taskbar. This indicates a strategic shift towards promoting the use of Microsoft Teams for communication and collaboration.

In the Start menu of Windows 11, all the essential components that make up the operating system are now labeled as “System” under the “All Apps” section. This labeling helps users identify core system elements more easily.
