  • First, you need to go to the Task Manager.
  • The easiest way to get to the task manager is by Clicking on any empty space of your taskbar and choose the task manager option.
  • After opening the task manager, Go to the startup tab.
  • There Identify the programs that you are not using regularly and don’t want to run automatically.
  • Disable them in the status section.

  • Finally, tick the box Turn on fast startup (recommended).

  1. Click on the Start button, go to Settings
  2. Click Privacy, scroll down and click the last option in the left panel – Background apps
  3. Switch off the toggles to turn off background apps you don’t need or use

  • Press Windows + R, type “services.msc” and ok.
  • This will open the Windows services console.
  • Scroll down and double-click on the services you want to stop or disable. for Ex: To Stop BITS service Double click on Background intelligent transfer service.
  • This will a new pop-up window, Here change the startup type Disable and Stop The service under service status.
  • Now click apply and ok to make save changes.

Do the same with Superfetch and windows update service, After that restart windows, you will notice this time windows running smoother and faster.

Disable Search Indexing

Windows Search indexing Feature improves the search tool’s responses and speeds up searching in Windows 10. But It weakens the performance, however, as it runs in the background and utilizes a lot of system resources. Owing to this reason, if you do searches occasionally, then it’s best to disable it.

Follow the below steps to disable search indexing:

  1. Right-Click Start > Computer Management
  2. Double-click on Services and Applications > Services
  3. In the services list, look for Windows Search and double-click it
  4. In the new window, for Startup type, select Manual or Disabled and then click the OK button to save your changes
