And most of this issue came from a faulty audio cable, a Missing or Corrupt sound driver, or a misconfigured windows driver setting. Computer hardware and operating systems do not speak the same language. To communicate, they need a mediator- and this job is done by drivers. And a sound driver is a software program that helps your operating system communicate with your sound card. Most of the time Windows 10 sound problems arise due to driver-related issues. Basic Troubleshooting

Check your speaker and headphone connections for loose cables or the wrong jack.

New PCs these days are equipped with 3 or more jacks including,

  • microphone jack
  • line-in jack
  • line-out jack.

These jacks connect to a sound processor. So make sure your speakers are plugged in to the line-out jack. If unsure which is the right jack, try plugging speakers into each of the jacks and see it produces any sound.

2. Check your power and volume levels, and try turning all the volume controls up.

3. Some speakers and apps have their own volume controls, and you might have to check them all.

4. Try connecting using a different USB port.

5. Remember that your speakers probably won’t work when headphones are plugged in.

Restart Windows Audio Service

To-Do This open the Command prompt as administrator and type the below commands one by one.

First Type net stop audiosrv to stop the windows audio service.

The next Type net stops AudioEndpointBuilder to Stop the Audio EndpointBuilder Service.

Again Type net start audiosrv to restart the Audio Service

And net starts AudioEndpointBuildert to Restart the Audio EndpointBuilder Service.

you can use windows service to restart the audio service follow the steps to restart windows audio with windows services.

on Start type services and click on View local Services.

Now On the Services window scroll down and right-click on the windows audio select stop. Again same right-click on AudioEndpointBuilder and select stop.

Again Same right-click on both windows audio and AudioEndpointBuilder and start the services. now check the problem is solved. if not solved follow the next steps.

Set As Default Device

If you’re connecting to an audio device using USB or HDMI, you might need to set that device as the default. To-Do this  Type Sound on Open Start, select it from the list of results, then on the Playback tab, select a device, then Set Default.

Update, Roll Back, or Re-Install Audio Drivers

Click on Start menu Search type Device Manager, and select it from the list of results. when the Device Manager opens you will see all installed drivers list. Now Look For the Sound, video, and game controllers, select your sound card, open it, select the Driver tab, and select Update Driver.

If Windows doesn’t find a new driver, look for one on the device manufacturer’s website and follow their instructions.

Roll Back Driver

If you face the Audio issue After upgrading to Windows 10. you can try to simply roll it back to the last good configuration. Right-click the Start button, select Device Manager, and right-click your sound driver, select Properties, and browse to the Driver tab. Press the Roll Back Driver option if available, and Windows 10 will begin the process.

If that didn’t work, try this: Uninstall your audio driver: open Device Manager, right-click (or tap and hold) the audio driver, and select Uninstall. Restart your device and Windows will attempt to reinstall the driver. And if that didn’t work, try using the generic audio driver that comes with Windows. Here’s how:

Open Device Manager, right-click (or tap and hold) your audio driver > Update driver software… > Browse my computer for driver software > Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.

Try the Inbuilt Audio Troubleshooting Tool

After performing the Above Methods still problem not solved then. You can use the in-build Audio Troubleshooting tool which helps the internal problems. Windows Open Troubleshooting tool from windows control panel view by small icons and select Troubleshooting now on left side select view all.

Now select playing Audio, This will popup a new Troubleshooting window. Here click on Advanced and tick on apply repairs automatically. Now click next this will check for audio problems if found anything fixes itself.

Change the bit rate in Play Back Devices

Right-click the sound icon in the taskbar, at the bottom right of the screen. Select Playback Devices from the menu.

Choose the current playback device (by default, it’s set to speakers) and double-click on it to open its properties. Now Go to the Advanced tab and change the bit rate to either, 24bit/44100 Hz or 24bit/192000Hz, depending on your speaker configuration.

After this, check if the sound issues are resolved on your Windows 10 computer.

Turn off audio enhancement

Go to Start, enter Sound, and select Sound Control Panel from the list of results. On the Playback tab, right-click (or tap and hold) the Default Device and select Properties.

On the Enhancements tab, select the Disable all enhancements checkbox and try to play your audio device.

If that doesn’t work, select Cancel and, on the Playback tab, select another default device (if you have one). Select the Disable all enhancements check box, and try to play audio again. Do this for each default device.

Try different audio formats

Go to Start, enter Sound, and select Sound Control Panel from the list of results. On the Playback tab, right-click (or tap and hold) the Default Device, and then select Properties.
On the Advanced tab, under Default Format, change the setting, and then retest your audio device. If that doesn’t work, try changing the setting again.
